  • Earth Day Tree Planting

The residents of Bethany Village celebrated Earth Day 2010 with a planting of an Oak tree in their memory garden in honor of one of their dear friends, David Mraz, who was killed last year in an ATV accident. It seemed the most significant day to memorialize David since he never took his time on earth for granted. David loved his garden, he loved nature and most importantly he loved his trees. A mighty oak was the most appropriate tree to plant in memory of David because his presence was similar to that of a giant Oak, mighty and large and great. The new addition to the garden arrived just as David did into this world, just as Dave came into this world, young and vulnerable facing the challenges of life ahead. Just as he was nurtured by a loving family, the gardeners at Bethany Village will nurture this tree. Just as he grew into a wonderful creature on this planet with a larger than life presence, one day, so will this tree. We will always miss David Mraz but each time we look out our windows and into the garden, we will remember Dave, mighty and majestic.

  • Bethany Village - Nine Years of Community Service
Fall Shopper, Saturday September 29, 2007

As the holidays approach and we enter our ninth year of service to the community, life at Bethany Village is very different than it was back in April 1999 when our doors first opened. We began with one resident and eight employees. Today, we are known as one of the nicest Senior Living Communities in our area, providing an exceptional living atmosphere for over 50 residents.

We have become the answer for many senior adults who find that they could use a little help for managing the responsibilities that we all share day-to-day. From home-cooked meals with scrumptious desserts, support for healthcare needs, social outings and daily activities, our residents and their families experience peace of mind and quality of life.

Our professional staff respects the need for independence while providing support for many of the daily tasks that need to be done, such as housekeeping, laundry, meals, medication schedules and personal care. Organized social and recreational activities enliven teh quality of life and enrich teh spirit.

When someone is home alone, or is given the reponsibility of caring for a loved one, three balanced meals a day, every day, can be overwhelming and often overlooked. Medication may not be taken as it should be and Mom or Dad's best friend becomes the television set. Upon arrival at Bethany Village, the stress and confusion over meals, medication management and social interaction disappears, and in its place enters a new freedom, the freedom to enjoy life again.

If you are concerned about the changing needs of your loved ones, please call Bethany Village today. Nestled in the rolling hills of Wayne County, we are an easy drive from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Philadelphia and New York City.
